Update on the US Trade War….
XOOT is produced in China, imported to the United States and distributed to North America (other international shipments when requested). First, Tariffs went up between Mexico and Canada. Now, the US has expanded Tariffs to the rest of the world and continually keeps changing things. Currently, most of the focus is on China (As of now, the base import tariff on Chinese goods is 145%. For XOOT, there are many more sprinkled on top, raising it to over 200%).
Luckily, XOOT has a large stock of arms in our US warehouse. We “should” be OK for the next 6 months. The current plan is to wait things out. No price changes are planned.
Here are some worst-case options:
- Make the arms in the US. Based on previous manufacturing estimates (for our required production volumes), we would need to raise the price per arm to around $2,000 – $2,500 USD. Not to mention an investment of over $1,000,000 in manufacturing tooling would be needed.
- Move production to another country. That’s also expensive and complicated. Not to mention, every contract manufacturer outside of China is getting slammed with bid requests right now.
Our only real choice for the short term is to wait and see where things go.

www.unifiedcinematic.com is on board! Michael of Unified Cinematic is the creator of XOOT’s product demo video. In the near future, we’ll be releasing a revised website with a new look and feel.
Updated Cintiq Pro 22 Kit
The Wacom Cintiq Pro 22 Kit has been revised. The old kit was based only on user feedback and user-submitted photos. That worked to get it off the ground, but now it has a look and specialized directions.
A special thanks to Wacom, who sent us a sample Cintiq Pro 22 to help in this effort.
New DIY Release.
We got a question….
“I would like to create some custom mods to the feet. Is there a way to get a 3d file or detailed measurements of the feet?”
