Hello Chris!
I stumbled across your product and as a veteran industrial designer, I am a huge fan!!! Congratulations on creating and launching such a cool device, well done! I am purchasing a new Cintiq Pro 27 and very interested in your awesome Xoot Stand. However, I use my drafting table which has a depth of 39″. I’ve watched multiple vidoes online and have seen many deeper desks using the Xoot successfully, just not sure they are 39″ like mine. Just was curious on a few things:
1) what is the MAX STRETCH of the unit from Rear Bracket to Full extended Arm?
2) knowing my drafting table is 39″ deep, do you feel it will still work okay for my desk setup (using reach, angling, etc)?
3) My Drafting table has a slight pitch to it (angled upwards very slightly) – this should be no problem with your Xoot system correct? (I had no problem with my previous Cintiq stands).
4) If I try it out, and it doesn’t work, I can return it right? (I read your return policy, no problem).
Let me know your thoughts and advice; would like to make the purchase ASAP. Thank you very much and congrats again on bringing this to market!!
My best,
Jedd
Hi Jedd,
Thanks for the nice comments. Unfortunately, I see some issues with your desk setup.
1) what is the MAX STRETCH of the unit from Rear Bracket to Full extended Arm?
The max reach forward for a Cintiq Pro 27 Kit should be around 39″. However, if constantly used with the screen at max extension, it limits XOOT_Pro’s capabilities. You can’t rotate the screen. You can’t archive all the ergonomic benefits without of having some desk sliding ability.
2) knowing my drafting table is 39″ deep, do you feel it will still work okay for my desk setup (using reach, angling, etc)?
Personally, I would not be happy with it.
3) My Drafting table has a slight pitch to it (angled upwards very slightly) – this should be no problem with your Xoot system correct? (I had no problem with my previous Cintiq stands).
This is a problem with XOOT_Pro! The weightless movement of the screen comes from balancing the center of mass of attached screen by tuning internal parts in the arm. This only works if the base of the arm is kept level.
Tilting the XOOT_Pro forward will cause the screen to want to pivot outward and be harder to push it back up.
4) If I try it out, and it doesn’t work, I can return it right? (I read your return policy, no problem).
If you’ve read the return policy than you should be good. We try to error on the side of the customer.
From what you’re describing, I’m not sure that a XOOT_Pro would match well with your current desk. If have an alternate desk to use or would like me to comment and alternate configuration feel free to write back.
