I got an email from an artist (Sam) interested in XOOT_Pro but they had a problem.  Sam wanted had read the Desk Compatibility Guide but found the clamp would not work with their desk.  The lip on their desk was 5 ½“ deep the max clamp depth for XOOT_Pro is 4 ¼“ deep.

I mentioned there was an option of drilling a hole in the desk.  But, this wasn’t an acceptable solution.

Sam wrote back with following illustration:

Add a plate to extend the length of the clamp post.  Wow! I had not thought of that solution before.

I retuned this design that should work desks up to 6 ½“ deep.

Sam liked it.  I made it. Here’s the result:

I tested the extension plate with a Cintiq Pro 27 Kit and a chunk of lumber to simulate a thick desk.  It worked great.

Here’s some drawings and a list of materials if you want to make your own clamp extension plate.
