Evening,
I reached out a few months ago, upon the receipt of my Xoot Pro. Having never heard back regarding the issue with the warped side panels, I now have an addition concern. I was dissembling my Xoot Pro to move to my new home. As I am taking a part the mounting base I notice that 4 of the 3/32 hex screws are script or rounded off. As this part of the unit came pre assembled I am unclear how this got past quality control. Before I extract the screws, could you please send me 4 of 3/32 hex screws to replace the ones that are damaged. Thank you.
Hello,
Sorry I must have missed your email in regard to the warped side panels. Here’s the backstory, the side panels were originally designed to be made with ABS plastic. However, the manufacturer found it was easier to produce the parts with PP (polypropylene) plastic and showed me sample panels to as a reference. They seemed fine so I approved them. It was only after the units arrived that I noticed that side panels have a tendency to warp with heat changes. The next manufactured batch will be made with ABS parts but the next re-order will not happen till the stock to go down far enough. You’ll need to wait a few months before this happens.
As for your rounded screws, I’m not sure of the screws to which you’re referring…
Are the red screws the ones you are referring to?
If so, let me know your Kit type. The length of the screws can change relative to the Kit type.
Also, XOOT was designed to metric standards. All screws and hex wrenches used should be metric. The screws in red above of M6 threading and take a 4mm hex wrench.
Waiting for your response…
