Manufacturing/Pricing/Release Date:
No update this month. Chinese New Year has most of Asia shut down.
XOOT Website:
Finally, I had a chance to go through the XOOT website. Added lots more information and updated old content.
Pages Added:
The MT11 kit – new general purpose Kit for Vesa Mount screens.
Desk Compatibility Guide – Will your desk work with the XOOT system?
Compare XOOT with other arm systems – Is XOOT right for you?
Instructions for XOOT assembly – A BIG THANKS to Team XOOT Honorary Member Mark Walling for spinning straw into gold. I dumped a collection of drawings on him, and Mark turned them into a spectacular document of instructions.
Here’s some key pages that were updated:
Ergonomics – updated the contents
Screen Rotation – updated to show new screen rotation mechanism
Custom Side Panels – updated, better examples.
About – updated, added a mission statement.
There were lots of other updates, look around and see what’s new.

XOOT Kit Change:
One person wrote in with questions on how Kits will work when updating to a new screen. That lead to a discussion where I leaned that I’m being overly optimistic about most people’s enthusiasm and abilities to (un-assemble a XOOT arm, install new parts then re-assemble the arm again).
Here’s a revised Kit idea:
- We send you a complete upper arm with the new Kit pre-installed.
- It only takes 4 screws to remove the old arm and install the new arm.
- The old upper arm is returned in the box the new arm came in.
This makes it simple for you (the customer) to upgrade a XOOT system.
For XOOT (the company) it gets complicated:
- Inspection of incoming arms
- Fixing any issues
- Replacing all kit cables
- Installing new kit components
- Reselling the “reconditioned” Kit at a lower price
- *Employing people to recondition XOOT units
- *Finding a place where reconditioning happens
- *Keeping a full inventory of spare parts and Kits
For a tiny sized company, supporting this model seems daunting. However, it’s the clear choice for a better customer experience.
On the downside, the new model will increase the Kit upgrade cost. The worst-case scenario is that a Kit upgrade will cost will be 75% the price of a complete XOOT system. (The lower arms and clamp account for 25% the XOOT system price).
We’re doing more research on this now. If you have an opinion, let us know in the comments.
Do you have a price determined yet? I really do want one of these. I know it will be expensive, but I think it will be a worthy value.
Please let me know approximately the price and likely date it will be available.
Thank you.

As per last month progress report. Last year I was planning on a retail price of $500. Then supply chain issues and inflation hit, our prices went up by 80%. Since then, prices have come down a bit but not enough. Chances are we’ll have to bump up the price a bit.
YES, WE KNOW ARTISTS ARE SENSITIVE TO PRICING.
Hold on… let the numbers come in… and we’ll figure it out.
