You might have noticed that we are behind our original crowdfunding launch schedule.
Things were held up because issues were found in the designs. The XOOT system must have a high quality bar. There is no point in being fast if the product is right.
It turns out most the issues were software related.
“Software?” you’re thinking… “It’s a Firkin Monitor Arm! What software could there be?”
It’s the design software. Getting weightless operation to work right takes a lot of computing power. Then add in Kits to support different screens. Add in more software to auto generate part designs per each Kit. Suffice to say, things get complicated. With some long nights and lots of coffee, my theoretical designs now agree with the physical plans.
It’s April and we’ve ordered 2 new prototypes. The parts should arrive in about 4 weeks. Once the new parts get in, it will take some time to assemble and ensure everything as works as expected.
Look for the May progress update.
